Poetry Competition
There is nothing like a competition to get your teacher excited! I know what great writers we have in P6 and I am convinced that in our class we have a winner. This week's homework will be to create a poem. As it is your ONLY homework task this week, make sure it is FABULOUS! You can choose any format or style: rhyming, non-rhyming, shape, humorous, acrostic, Haiku, Limerick, whatever. However, it must be ORIGINAL (that means you made it up and didn't copy it). We will edit and word process and print them on Thursday during ICT, so make sure you have them done by Thursday morning and bring them into school. If you can write one using the theme of the Rights of the Child, I will give you some extra Dojo Points for effort and will add them to our class display, but you can choose your own theme if you want.
I will post some examples of poems below, but remember your poem must be 100% original.

During
my school summer holidays I went to Loch Lomond. You can get there on
a bus, a plane and a sea plane!!! I went with my family and it was
beautiful and the veiw was very cool. The river was sparkling golden
because the sun was shining. The baby rabbit were jumping about and
were very cute. The trees were huge and so think!!! Loch lomand is
very cool and I was happy of there. There was not a clowd in the sky.
Come to Loch Lomond. You will love it.

RIGHTS of the CHILD
This week P6 have started our Interdisciplinary Topic on the Rights of the Child. We have been looking at each article individually and discussing its significance and impact in our own lives. We realise that we might take some of these rights for granted, but that in other cultures children do not have all their rights protected.
The next part of our topic will concentrate on examining the rights of children around the world.
